The objects of monumental sculpture are usually created on some
solemn occasion to capture the memory of an important historical event or figure. The main types of monumental sculpture are: a statue, a stela, an obelus, a statuary, a memorial, triumphal arches or columns. These massive sculptural objects are made of very strong materials (marble, granite, composite stone, bronze, copper, brass, gesso or wood).
