«between». diptych.
Description of the picture
I once dug up a small metal pipe, about twenty centimeters long and two in diameter, in the snow outside a convenience store. It was covered with rust and chunks of greenish paint.
a piece of mirror bolted to the closet reflected the front door to the room. sometimes the door would open.
it turns out that all the works presented here are in one way or another related to reflections and the ability to reflect. the works contain a reflection in themselves already initially: as soon as the door opens, I stop working. meanwhile, the piece of pipe with greenish paint puts me in a position where you stop seeing the object as such. its very existence prevents me from paying proper (physical) attention to it, and eye contact hangs in the 'between' position.
