Firinat Gaptukhaevich Khalikov – Merited Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan (2001), laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G. Tukay (2006), corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2012), is a historical painter with a broad range and contemporary thinking. His works on the theme of Kazan: views of the ancient city, psychological and historical dramas, battle scenes, multi-figure compositions with the participation of people, historical landscape and portraits are considered a significant contribution to the recreation of the image of the thousand-year-old city. His paintings, presented at solo exhibitions in Kazan (1997, 2003, 2005, 2008) and Moscow (halls of the Academy of Arts, 2003), Paris (UNESCO Headquarters, 2001), Helsinki (2002) and Pisa, Italy (2003), along with the results of fundamental scientific conferences and discoveries, contributed to the inclusion of the Kazan Kremlin ensemble in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The monumental panels, reconstructions, and watercolors by the master, as authentic and artistic material, adorn the halls of the newly opened new Museum of the Millennium of Kazan (2005). In fact, contemporaries have seen the history of Kazan through the eyes of F.G. Khalikov, as evidenced by including the artist's works in textbooks on the history of Russia and Tatarstan, almanacs, and encyclopedias, including "The Great Atlas of Tatarstan" (2005) (20 works), the "Great Soviet Encyclopedia," the "Great Russian Encyclopedia," in foreign publications, and broadcasts on central television. The creative works of the artist are a brand of Tatarstan. As a pioneer of the historical-social and battle genres in the contemporary visual arts of Tatarstan, the artist was awarded a Diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts (2005). In 2006 and 2012, the album "Eternal Kazan" was published, where the creativity of F.G. Khalikov for the last 30 years is most fully represented. That same year, for a series

of paintings "Eternal Kazan," the artist was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G. Tukay. F. Khalikov is the Chief Artist of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, author of the facades and interiors.
