Oil paints are made of dry pigment and drying oil base, for example, from flax or poppy seeds. Artists use linen or cotton canvas as a plane for the application of oil paints, as well as wooden panels. Before using the paints,they applied a special primer
to the surface which helps to prevent the oil base from flowing out, which also ensures the adhesion of the colored layer to the surface of the future painting.
