Description of the picture
I painted this sketch from nature, on a summer evening on the Moika River embankment, not far from Nevsky Prospekt. The setting sun illuminates the brightly colored houses on the embankment, these colors are reflected and vibrate in the waters of the river and the mirrored surfaces of the pleasure boat, so that it merges with the surroundings. The whole landscape space is permeated with a multitude of reflexes. Cold and hot colors contrast and enhance each other's intensity.
