«Today is Saturday.» Big Yakimanka.
Description of the picture
It is sunny and not crowded in Moscow on Saturday. The big Yakimanka lazily wagged its tail and went to the right towards the southwest and Leninsky Prospekt. At this point, the street seems to be a secondary alley, and it was so before the reconstruction in 1970. You are not at liberty to compare the view of the street with its description in Ivan Shmelev's book «The Summer of the Lord»: «And everything is asleep: white houses in the sun, dusty green trees, behind fences with nails, blue rows of bedside tables similar to blue buckwheat, brown lanterns, trudging cabbies.»
