Cala delle Sorgenti. Sardegna
Description of the picture
Cala delle Sorgenti [cala delle Sorgenti] is a bay of «springs» in Sardinia. The name Cala delle Sorgenti comes precisely from the springs of water gushing from the limestone cliff into the sea. Cala delle Sorgenti is a small, narrow, secluded corner of paradise on earth with clear azure water.
I chose this motif precisely because of its bright azure, which I managed to convey easily and without unnecessary «special effects». Dark rough rocks contrast with the shining transparent azure. The bright sun unites everything together.
As always, the canvas is painted in many layers - somewhere with glazes, somewhere with covering. The spots of light on the rocks are made in paste and left white to emphasize the dazzling brightness of the sun.
A baguette of fine gray gives the work a pearlescent hue, emphasizing the brightness of the sea azure. I completed the gallery with photos of the framed painting.
