Crystal Day

Description of the picture

Dried roses, green apples and hyacinth flowers in a pot were reflected in the mirrored surface of the windowsill. The beginning of spring is outside the window, blue silhouettes of houses against which the elastic trunks of white birches turn pink.
When I completed work on this canvas, it was quite by chance that the name «Crystal Day» was born in my head. There is not a single crystal object in this still life, but the cold tones and iridescence of color with a faint shimmer that occur in nature in early spring gave an association with something crystal.
