Solovetsky Monastery is located on the shore of the well-protected bay of Prosperity from storms. The harbor of Prosperity is a whole system of small sea bays (inlets) and standing on their shores of hydraulic structures, services, hotel buildings and historical monuments. It includes: a complex of buildings on the Seldyan Promontory, Arkhangelsk and Preobrazhenskaya hotels, the monastery dry dock with memorial steles, the embankment with piers and chapels at the western wall of the monastery. At the beginning of the XX century, the harbor served the extensive maritime economy of the monastery: shipping, sailing fleet, small-scale fishing fleet; it received and repaired incoming ships.
