Cubist artists tried to deconstruct objects, to split them into components. That’s why cubists prefer collage and application methods, synthesizing an artwork from disparate components. Pablo Picasso said: “When we discovered сubism, we did not have the aim of discovering сubism. We only wanted to express what was in us.”
