Quetzalcoatl or «Feathered Serpent» is one of the main deities of the pantheon of the Indians of Central America with the body of a snake and the bright plumage of the quetzal bird. Quetzalcoatl occupied an important place in the mythology of Teotihuacan and became the supreme god of the Toltecs, Aztecs and Mayans (the latter revered him under the name Kukulkan).
